Job Description:
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Oracle/SQL Database Administrator (DBA) to support, maintain, and upgrade database systems for a dynamic and collaborative technology environment. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the security, performance, and availability of critical infrastructure. The ideal candidate will bring proven experience in both Oracle and SQL Server technologies, along with a strong understanding of automation and version control tools.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to):
- Administer and support Oracle and SQL Server databases across development and production environments.
- Perform database upgrades, patching, backups, performance tuning, and general maintenance.
- Manage and monitor Oracle RAC and SQL Server failover clusters to ensure system uptime and resiliency.
- Implement and maintain Oracle Advanced Security tools (including Transparent Data Encryption and Oracle Key Vault).
- Automate routine tasks using Ansible playbooks and improve database deployment processes.
- Collaborate with engineering, development, and operations teams to ensure alignment with project goals.
- Utilize Git, Jira, and Bamboo for version control, issue tracking, and CI/CD support.
- Identify and resolve database-related incidents and recommend improvements for long-term stability.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience managing Oracle and SQL Server databases.
- Proficiency with Oracle 19c and SQL Server 2012 or newer.
- Experience with Oracle RAC and SQL Server failover clustering.
- Working knowledge of Oracle Advanced Security Options, including TDE and Key Vault.
- Experience automating database administration tasks using Ansible.
- Familiarity with collaborative tools such as Git, Jira, and Bamboo.
- Strong communication and analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot independently in a hybrid team environment.
