Job Summary

The Nursing Services Program Manager coaches, manages, and leads the nursing team and services for Loudoun County's clinic services and programs. Applying advanced clinical skills and proactive leadership capabilities, the Nursing Services Program Manager and the team of nurses and service coordinators work collaboratively with the MHSADS staff to deliver individualized services in an effective, equitable, respectful, and trauma-informed manner.

In this role you will:

  • Serve in a critical leadership role, managing the provision of outstanding nursing care and service coordination to individuals served in our (2) clinic locations located in Leesburg and Sterling.
  • Provide clinical and administrative oversight to a team of service coordinators and nurses who assess medical, physical, and nutritional health needs of individuals enrolled in services.
  • Hire, on-board, train, coach/mentor, and complete annual appraisals for our team of clinic-based nurses and service coordinators.
  • Develop policies that govern nursing care pertaining to medical case management, medication administration, and medical supports.
  • Be responsible for the Department's medication rooms including licensing requirements for the DEA and Controlled substance regulations, along with compliance to policies and procedures.
  • Assure adherence to best practices and compliance with Board of Pharmacy, Nursing, and other State and Federal healthcare and safety standards/regulations.
  • Oversee nursing and medication services (including dispensing and auditing medications in accordance with the Board of Pharmacy), complete primary care screening, and/or ensures coordination of medical and/or psychiatric treatment.
  • Effectively manage budgetary and human capital resources: assess program effectiveness; review efficiencies of operations; evaluate ongoing professional development and staff training needs; collaborate with staff, departments, and the community; and ensure exceptional customer service.
  • Promote integration of mental, behavioral, and/or developmental health with medical, physical, and nutritional health.

Hiring salary commensurate with experience.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current, active license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing with a minimum of four (4) years related, progressively responsible work experience including at least one (1) year of supervisory experience (equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Possess strong organizational skills and demonstrate an ability to lead a clinic-based nursing team.
Valued Skills and Experience:
  • Demonstrated leadership and management abilities in program development, personnel management, reviewing efficiencies of operations, budget oversight, and resource allocation.
  • Thorough knowledge of community mental health nursing theories, techniques, and practices
  • Advanced knowledge of intensive case management and case coordination.
  • Bilingual (Spanish-speaking) and multilingual applicants are encouraged to apply.

Job Contingencies and Special Requirements

  • Must be fitted for N-95 (or similar) mask to safely provide on-site services as needed.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment background check to include fingerprinting, NCIC, credit, OMV, and TB test. Must have a valid driver's license in Virginia or regional state of residence.
