About the Job: This position provides analytical support to the Procurement department using diverse data gathering and visualization techniques to perform qualitative, quantitative, and statistical analyses on spend, vendor performance, pricing levers, market trends, and economic conditions relative to strategically sourced categories. This role requires a high level of comfort with large datasets and advanced Excel capabilities. What You'll Do:
- Analyzes large and complex datasets to identify trends, variances, and actionable insights.
- Normalizes and compares pricing files across suppliers, divisions, and timeframes.
- Builds and maintains pivot tables; applies advanced Excel formulas (e.g., INDEX-MATCH, nested IFs, arrays); and creates insightful charts and graphs.
- Prepares and presents summary reports for procurement leadership and internal stakeholders.
- Conducts cost and spend analyses to support sourcing initiatives and strategy.
- Measures supplier and procurement performance across multiple dimensions using internal data and external benchmarks.
- Supports a hybrid performance management model by incorporating input from multiple departments and stakeholders.
- Researches market trends, supplier performance, and industry benchmarks to inform procurement strategy.
- Identifies opportunities for process improvement and efficiency across procurement activities.
- Gathers, compiles, analyzes, and synthesizes data from various internal systems to support key initiatives.
- Prepares outputs in formats that clearly communicate findings and recommendations.
- Participates in supplier negotiations and business review meetings; assists with contract establishment and administration.
- Travels occasionally to divisional or supplier locations to conduct data research and build category expertise.
- Communicates clearly and professionally with cross-functional teams, procurement leadership, and external vendors.
- Manages multiple priorities and timelines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Qualifications
Skills You'll Need:
- Bachelor's degree in an analytical field of study (e.g., finance, engineering, data analytics) and or 2-4 years of experience in procurement, supply chain analytics, or data analysis with a proven track record of accomplishment in interpreting business needs and applying mathematical, statistical, economics and computer principles to solve related problems.
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, advanced formulas, and data visualization (Visual Basic for Applications is a plus).
- Experience working with large datasets from an Enterprise Resource Planning system or spend management systems.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to synthesize complex data into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Excellent time management, organizational, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools (preferred but not required).
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and shifting priorities.
- High degree of intellectual curiosity.
- Proactive, takes initiative.
