Are you a detail-driven machinist who thrives on second shift challenges? CAES, a leader in cutting-edge aerospace and defense technology, is looking for a skilled Deburrer to join our high-performance team in Lansdale, PA. This is more than just a job-it's a chance to help build the technologies that protect national security.


Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities - Deburrer (Aerospace & Defense)

    • Remove burrs, sharp edges, and surface imperfections from precision metal and electronic components used in aerospace and defense systems
    • Use hand tools, pneumatic tools, and specialized deburring equipment to meet strict military and aerospace specifications
    • Inspect parts under magnification to ensure compliance with Mil-Spec and IPC standards
    • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and process sheets to understand part geometry and deburring requirements
    • Collaborate with assemblers, machinists, and quality inspectors to ensure parts meet dimensional and cosmetic standards
    • Maintain traceability and documentation for parts processed, in accordance with defense industry protocols
    • Follow cleanroom and ESD procedures when handling sensitive components
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and reduce cycle time

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with precision hand tools (e.g., files, deburring blades, rotary tools)
  • Strong attention to detail with ability to work under a microscope or magnifier
  • Ability to read technical drawings and follow written instructions
  • Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a "US Person" under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Preferred:

  • Understanding of aerospace quality standards such as IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, or Mil-Specs (preferred but trainable)
  • Excellent math skills including trigonometry and geometry
  • Prior experience working with sheet metal
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
    Experience in a defense contractor, aerospace, or military environment.
  • 5 years' experience mill set ups
    3 years' Lathe experience

Salary Range: Machinist Level I: $18.52 hr - $25.95 hr; Machinist Level II: $22.96 hr to $33.32 hr (Lansdale, PA). Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
