Summary: We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Business Development Director to lead growth initiatives in the rapidly evolving markets of Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems (C-UAS), Unmanned Aircraft Traffic Management (UTM), and Air Traffic Control (ATC) with a focus on Air Force and FAA end users. This role will identify and pursue business opportunities with defense, civil, and commercial customers to expand our market presence in drone detection, mitigation, and traffic integration technologies.

What you'll do



  • Develop and execute business development strategies for C-UAS, UTM and ATC sectors, aligned with company goals.
  • Identify new customers, partners, and markets in defense, homeland security, aviation authorities, and commercial airspace management.
  • Shape and respond to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), white papers, and unsolicited proposals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including DoD, FAA, DHS, NASA, civil aviation authorities, and international counterparts.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and program management teams to align customer needs with solutions.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and technology demonstrations.
  • Track market trends, competitor activity, and policy/regulatory changes relevant to UTM and C-UAS domains.
  • Manage the pipeline and forecast revenue targets for short-term wins and long-term strategic growth.
  • Guide pricing, teaming strategy, and partnerships to strengthen competitive positioning.



Required Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Aviation, or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in business development, sales, or program management in aerospace, defense, or unmanned systems.
  • Deep understanding of UTM architectures, counter-drone technologies, ATC operations, and regulatory environments.
  • Proven track record of capturing large programs or strategic partnerships in DoD, civil aviation, or international markets.
  • Strong customer network within defense, government, and commercial aviation sectors.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.



Desired Qualifications



  • Prior experience with ATC (e.g., STARS) or UAS Traffic Management frameworks (e.g., NASA UTM, EUROCONTROL U-space).
  • Familiarity with layered C-UAS systems (e.g., RF detection, radar, EO/IR, kinetic/non-kinetic mitigation).
  • Knowledge of airspace integration, surveillance, or command-and-control systems.
  • Active security clearance (Secret or higher) or ability to obtain one



Special Requirements



  • Must be a US Citizen eligible to obtain a DoD Security Clearancee.



Salary Range: $150,000.00 - 225,000.00
