Purpose:

As a Senior Electrical Designer supporting our Power business, you will be based onsite at our Reading, PA office, delivering high-quality electrical design and drafting services to Worley and our clients. You'll contribute to complex and rewarding Power projects that help energize industries, infrastructure, and communities.

• Independently execute complex design assignments for Power projects using advanced theories, methods, and tools across multiple small to mid-size scopes.
• Collaborate effectively within a team environment with minimal supervision, adhering to Client, Company, and Industry standards within the Power sector.
• Complete moderately to highly complex drafting tasks using established techniques and industry-standard software, in accordance with Worley's procedures specific to electrical Power design.
• Lead the development of design and detailed drawings for Power systems from sketches, plans, or other specification data.
• Take ownership of design and drafting for high- and low-voltage Power system installations.
• Provide technical oversight to junior designers, ensuring all deliverables meet client expectations and Power project requirements.
• Participate in design reviews with Power clients, offering insights into technical challenges and ensuring compliance with regulatory and project-specific standards.
• Consistently deliver assigned scopes on schedule and within budget across Power design projects.
• Develop layouts, plans, sections, elevations, and details for facilities and equipment within Power systems, referencing vendor materials and design catalogs.
• Perform required calculations (dimensional, routine, etc.) and maintain thorough documentation for all Power-related electrical deliverables.
• Conduct field visits for site walkdowns related to raceway routing and other Power infrastructure components.
• Coordinate the development and integration of all Power electrical drawings and models across disciplines.
• Ensure adherence to project-specific Quality Assurance systems and guidelines for the Power discipline.

• Extensive experience in electrical design for Power projects.

• Proficiency in SmartPlant Electrical (SPEL) and SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI), AutoCAD, and MicroStation; familiarity with AVEVA E3D is a plus.

• Experience with SmartPlant 3D, including participation in 3D model reviews related to Power systems.

• Detailed drawings for lighting, small power, and earthing systems.

• HV/LV single-line diagrams and control/wiring schematics.

• AC/DC distribution panels, process area electrical equipment layouts.

• Substation and switchyard layouts.

• Cable tray routing (above grade and underground), ductbank design.

• Installation details, grounding and lightning protection, and heat tracing for Power applications.

• Cable schedules, pulling calculations, cable tray sizing, and selection.

• Lighting calculations (e.g., AGI32 or equivalent).

• Material take-offs and specification of bulk materials for Power systems.

• Required: Associate degree or technical diploma in Electrical Design or Drafting with coursework focused on Power systems.

• Preferred: Equivalent combination of education, hands-on training, and relevant experience in electrical design and drafting for Power-related projects.
