JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Protein Scientist to join our dynamic research team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing protein quantification, protein characterization, protein identification, and related sample preparation. This role is crucial for advancing our research and development projects in Client Crop Science.

Key Responsibilities include:
* Protein Quantification
o Perform ELISA for protein quantification, including automated and semi-automated
o Perform western (WES) assays for protein identification and semi-quantification
o Analyze data, interpret results, and document in data systems
o Prepare samples for immunoassay needs
o Participate in shared lab duties and the maintenance of lab equipment

Other Responsibilities may include:
* Protein Characterization
o Perform SDS-PAGE and gel imaging
o Conduct protease digestion and time course experiment analysis
o Prepare samples for mass spectrometry
* Protein Purification
o Express proteins in various systems (e.g., bacterial, yeast, and insect cells)
o Conduct protein purification using various chromatography techniques
* Protein Functional Assay
o Perform protein activity assays, such as enzyme assays and protein binding assays

Qualifications:
* Master"s degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or a related field, or a Bachelor"s degree with relevant experience
* Self-starter and motivated
* Expertise in ELISA and western
* Strong background with LIMS and liquid handlers
* Experience with protein expression and purification techniques
* Familiarity with mass spectrometry methodology
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
* Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols and best practices
