NexTier's Completions Data Science team brings together talented, driven professionals who turn complex operational data into clear insights and empower our organization to make smarter, data-backed decisions every day. We partner with Operations, Reservoir Engineering, Supply Chain and Sales to develop dashboards, forecasts and analytics that optimize our operations.

Detailed Description:

In this role you will design and build scalable data-driven pipelines, develop interactive dashboards, apply statistical techniques and basic machine-learning methods to surface insights, and translate your analyses into recommendations that drive operational efficiency and business planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and evolve the BI strategy, identifying high-value analytics use cases across Completions, Reservoir, Supply Chain and Sales
  • Architect, implement and maintain cloud-native analytics pipelines using Python, SQL and orchestration tools
  • Build and optimize interactive dashboards in Tableau or other BI tools with filters, alerts and scheduled updates
  • Apply time-series forecasting, clustering and regression analyses to supplement dashboards with proactive insights
  • Partner with stakeholders from Operations, Reservoir Engineering, Supply Chain and Sales to gather requirements and deliver analytics solutions
  • Mentor data analysts through code reviews, best-practice sharing and hands-on coaching
  • Enforce standards for code quality, version control and documentation across the analytics team
  • Present findings in concise slide decks and written reports for both technical and non-technical audiences

Job Requirements:

  • Prior experience in completions or oil and gas data analytics
  • Proven track record leading and mentoring analytics teams or projects
  • Expert programming skills in Python (Pandas, NumPy) and SQL for data manipulation
  • Hands-on experience building dashboards and reports in Tableau or other BI tools
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical analyses into clear recommendations
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results on time

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics or related field
  • 5+ years of experience applying data science techniques in industrial settings
  • 3+ years building and deploying data-science algorithms on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP or Azure)
  • 3+ years developing BI solutions in Tableau or Power BI

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or higher in a quantitative discipline
  • Experience with cloud data warehouses such as BigQuery, AlloyDB
  • Prior domain knowledge of hydraulic fracturing or completions operations

Working Conditions:

Work is primarily in a climate controlled / office environment with minimal safety / health hazard potential. The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, or walk with occasional lifting (overhead, waist level) from floor, bending and frequent near vision use for reading and use of computer, telephone, and other office equipment.
