AI Software Engineer, Forward Deployed

Adobe Inc.
United States, California, San Jose
345 Park Avenue (Show on map)
Mar 30, 2026

The Role

You are the core of Adobe's Forward Deployed Engineering org. You prototype in days, productionize in weeks, and ship real GenAI applications that transform how the world's biggest brands create content. You own the full lifecycle from first customer conversation to production deployment.

You embed directly with enterprise customer teams. You understand their problems, build working software, deploy it, and make it durable. You extract reusable patterns into shared libraries and frameworks so the next engagement goes 2x faster. You are a product engineer who happens to work at the frontier of customer problems.

If you thrive at the intersection of building software and solving real business problems - and you can't stop tinkering with AI - this is your role.

What You'll Do

  • Build end-to-end. Design, develop, and deploy full-stack GenAI applications - prototype to production. No throwing things over a wall.

  • Embed with customers. Work directly with enterprise teams to understand requirements, run technical workshops, and co-build solutions. You're their trusted technical partner.

  • Contribute to the platform. Extract reusable patterns, build shared libraries, improve CI/CD templates, write playbooks. What you build once, the whole org uses.

  • Drive product feedback. Capture field-proven use cases and funnel them to Product. You're the voice of what customers actually need.

  • Move fast, ship often. Prototype rapidly with an experiment-first mindset. Validate with customers. Iterate. Deploy. Repeat.

  • Stay at the frontier. This field changes weekly. You keep up - new models, new frameworks, new capabilities. You bring what you learn back to the team.

What You Bring

  • You write production code. 3 to 8+ years building and shipping production software. Full-stack: React/Next.js, Node.js/Python, REST/GraphQL, databases. You have a GitHub or portfolio that shows what you've built.

  • Hands-on GenAI experience. You've built on LLMs (GPT, Claude, Gemini, Llama, Mistral or equivalent), built RAG pipelines, used embeddings, vector databases, and prompt engineering. You've used agent frameworks (LangGraph, CrewAI, deepagents, Claude Agent SDK or equivalent). Ideally you've shipped GenAI applications in production.

  • AI-native workflow. You use AI coding tools daily - Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot, Codex. You've built or extended MCP servers, created custom agents, or automated your own workflows with AI. This isn't a bullet point on your resume; it's how you operate.

  • Cloud & DevOps fluency. Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI), cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP). You can deploy what you build.

  • Customer-facing communication. You translate complex AI concepts for both engineers and executives. You're comfortable in a room with a customer's technical team. Low ego, high clarity.

  • Bias for action. You don't wait for specifications. You don't ask for permission. You prototype, show the work, get feedback, iterate. Urgency is your default setting.

What Sets You Apart

  • Former founder or early-stage startup engineer who's built a product from scratch

  • Open-source contributions, personal AI projects, or a technical blog showing what you build in your own time

  • Experience building content/asset production systems, MarTech platforms, or creative workflow tools - especially at ad agencies, creative studios, or marketing technology companies (e.g., Publicis, Monks, R/GA, Accenture Song, WPP, Omnicom, Dentsu, Havas, WongDoody, Designit, Code & Theory). You've been on the customer's side of the table and know how creative teams operate at scale.

  • Experience with video/media processing pipelines, video APIs, or multi-modal AI systems (text-to-video, image-to-video, video reformulation, dubbing)

  • Built multi-agent systems, MCP integrations, or agentic CI/CD pipelines

  • Adobe ecosystem familiarity (Firefly Services, AEM, Workfront, App Builder, Frame.io) is a plus but not required - we care about how fast you learn, not what you already know
