People Inc. is seeking an experienced and strategic Principal Product Manager to lead consumer-facing product initiatives across our Food portfolio, with a focus on recipe search and discovery for the Food Program. In this role, you'll own the product strategy and roadmap for key user-facing experiences that help millions of home cooks find inspiration on our iconic sites every day. As a senior IC partner, you'll work cross-functionally with engineering, data science, design, editorial, growth, and marketing teams to build delightful, performant, and innovative experiences that drive engagement and deepen loyalty with our audiences.

Hybrid 3x a week- (New York, NY)
In-office Expectations: This position is hybrid in-office, with the ability to work remotely for up to 2 days per week.

About The Team: | The Team and/or Brand.

The Food Program product team develops and executes on the roadmap for the iconic brands in the Food & Home portfolios at People Inc., which includes Allrecipes, Food & Wine, Better Homes & Gardens, and more, reaching 100MM people a month. Their work also focuses on the strategic vision and active development of MyRecipes, People Inc.'s digital recipe box that bridges the gap between inspiration and action for home cooks of all skill levels.

30% - Product Leadership

  • Drive the long-term product vision and strategy for recipe search and discovery across the Food portfolio
  • Establish and track measurable goals and KPIs aligned to broader business objectives
  • Act as the voice of the user-advocating for intuitive, impactful experiences grounded in consumer needs
  • Maintain a strong product POV that reinforces brand integrity and builds audience trust

25% - Product Discovery & Delivery

  • Lead discovery processes including problem framing, research, prototyping, and validation
  • Translate insights into actionable product solutions through iterative experimentation and refinement
  • Manage the full product development lifecycle in partnership with engineering and design
  • Ensure timely, high-quality execution of roadmap initiatives in agile workflows

20% - Strategic Roadmapping

  • Define and evolve a product roadmap that balances near-term wins with long-term growth
  • Integrate brand priorities, user feedback, platform opportunities, and technical constraints
  • Proactively communicate roadmap updates and rationale to stakeholders across the organization
  • Adapt roadmap direction based on performance outcomes, org shifts, and audience behavior

15% - Analytics & Insights

  • Partner with analytics and data science to design experiments, define success metrics, and measure impact
  • Use data to inform product direction, validate hypotheses, and surface new opportunities
  • Synthesize qualitative and quantitative insights to support continuous product improvement
  • Champion a data-informed culture within the cross-functional team

10% - Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Collaborate deeply with engineering, design, editorial, growth, and SEO teams to align goals and priorities
  • Facilitate cross-functional decision-making with clarity, transparency, and influence
  • Translate technical constraints and opportunities into language stakeholders can act on
  • Build strong partnerships that enable cohesive, cross-brand execution at scale

The Role's Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements
Education: B.S. or B.A. required and/or equivalent experience.

Experience: 7+ years in product management, with substantial experience in search and consumer engagement strategies.

Specific Knowledge, Skills, Certifications and Abilities:

  • Proven success leading consumer products that span multiple teams or business units, ideally in media or content. Food & recipe experience is a strong plus.
  • Deep understanding of analytics, growth levers, A/B testing, and agile product processes.
  • A passion for innovation in the media space and a strong orientation toward outcomes, user needs, and brand integrity.
  • Strong understanding of search, recommendations, vector databases, and LLM application patterns is a major plus.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with empathetic customer insight-translating stated needs and revealed preferences into impactful solutions.
  • Exceptional collaboration and communication skills-able to influence without authority and align cross-functional stakeholders.

Pay Range

Salary: New York: $150,000 - $175,000

The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of People Inc's total compensation package for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, and short- and long-term incentives.
