AR/VR II - Modeling and Mocap Specialist

Overview

SCCI has an exciting opportunity for an AR/VR IIprofessional to join our team in support of the Battle Management System (BMS), an innovative DoD program. If your specialty is in modeling for realistic simulation development, this would be the perfect job for you! BMS specializes in rapidly developing and deploying innovative technology solutions to outmatch the evolving threats faced by our warfighters. If you are an innovative thinker with modeling experience and familiarity with the Unity and Unreal game engines to create visualizations for training and DoD system simulations and/or motion platform development, this is your opportunity to join a dedicated team of professionals making a difference. This position is located in Dahlgren, VA.

Responsibilities:



  • Conceptualize, prototype, design, code, and engineer a variety of visualizations including flight, sensor, and other simulations, and/or motion platform development that can be used on mobile, desktop or VR platforms
  • Optimizing and training models to enhance combat scenario realism
  • Utilizing the Unity, Unreal, or Omniverse gaming engine, along with C++ or C# and Python to develop XR/VR environments and game engine assets
  • Collaborating with other developers, engineers, data scientists, testers, and SMEs within a rapid development framework


Essential Skills and Experience:



  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain an active Secret Security Clearance
  • Degree or related experience:

    • Bachelor of Science (B)S degree in in 3D Animation & Modeling, Game Design/Art, Graphic Design, or Computer Science or field directly related to XR/VR development, or
    • Equivalent direct hands-on experience with Extended Reality/Virtual Reality (XR/VR) development or
    • A military background with relevancy to XR/VR development


  • Three (3) years of professional experience demonstrating the ability to concept, prototype, model, and engineer a variety of visualizations, flight simulations, and/or motion platform development compatible with mobile, desktop or VR platforms
  • Must demonstrate knowledge or experience in 3D model creation and texturing, in addition to shader and lighting development
  • Experience with Unity or Unreal game engine asset creation
  • Experience with C#, C++ or C
  • Familiarity with Git workflows
  • Knowledge of tools like Jenkins, GitLab
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, rapidly changing range/field environment with a focus on fielding a product
  • Ability to support tasking for multiple projects



Preferred Experience:



  • Experience capturing and editing motion animations for game engine implementation such as Unity, Unreal Engine and Nvidia Omniverse
  • Experience working with 3D laser scanning and point cloud model conversion as it relates to model pipelines
