Position Summary: The ADP Payroll Manager is responsible for leading the payroll team and ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing within ADP. This role is integral to the company's financial operations, ensuring payroll efficiency, system optimization, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will drive payroll process improvements, maintain data integrity, and collaborate cross-functionally with HR and Finance to enhance payroll operations. Primary Responsibilities:
- Payroll Processing: Oversee and manage end-to-end payroll processes for all employees, including wage calculations, deductions, taxes, bonuses, commissions, profit sharing calc's and benefits to ensure accurate and timely payroll execution.
- Compliance & Regulations: Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws. Stay updated on regulatory changes, ensuring policies and procedures align with the latest legal requirements and audit standards.
- System & Data Integrity: Manage and optimize payroll HRIS system, ensuring data accuracy, troubleshooting system issues, and identifying opportunities to enhance system utilization and efficiency within ADP.
- Process Improvement: Continuously assess payroll processes to identify and implement best practices, automation opportunities, and efficiencies to streamline operations and enhance accuracy.
- Employee Support & Communication: Serve as the primary owner and subject matter expert for payroll-related inquiries to resolve payroll team escalations regarding pay, tax withholding, and deductions.
- Reporting & Analytics: Generate and analyze payroll reports for management, finance, and HR, providing insights and data-driven recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
- Leadership & Team Development: Manage, mentor, and develop the payroll team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning. Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching as needed.
- Audits & Reconciliation: Conduct regular payroll audits to ensure accuracy and compliance. Partner with internal and external auditors to support audit requests and maintain thorough documentation.
- Accounting: Prepare monthly payroll G/L entries, accruals, and complete payroll account reconciliations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with HR and Finance teams to align payroll operations with company policies, financial planning, and employee benefits administration.
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience required:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Experience: Extensive payroll expertise and demonstrated success in a leadership role.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of payroll systems and software (ADP required). Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant tools.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze payroll data, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective actions with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Confidentiality & Compliance: Strong understanding of payroll laws and best practices, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations. Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Communication & Leadership: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with employees, managers, leadership, and external stakeholders. Strong leadership skills to guide, mentor, and motivate a high-performing payroll team.
- Time Management & Organization: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively under pressure.
- Collaboration & Influence: Proven ability to work cross-functionally with HR, Finance, and external stakeholders to drive payroll efficiencies, process changes, and system enhancements.
