Job Summary:

The Director of Clinical Resources and Professional Education develops clinical content and helps provide strategy for professional education for MS healthcare providers. They oversee the creation and dissemination of clinical content, ensuring accuracy and consistency to ensure quality improvement in clinical knowledge and practices for MS healthcare providers. Additionally, this role will proactively survey the MS landscape to evaluate, identify and plan for needed content to serve MS healthcare providers and providers people might encounter in the healthcare system before receiving a diagnosis, to drive towards early diagnosis and treatment.

This position will manage 2 direct reports that focus on creating content and professional education for MS healthcare professionals and will work collaboratively within the healthcare access team and cross-functionally across the Society to provide subject matter expertise and ensure content (both written and digital) and professional education initiatives are in alignment with organizational strategic priorities and direction.

Main Responsibilities:

Resource strategy and development

  • Provide proactive leadership and strategic direction in developing creating, maintaining, and evaluating the impact of MS specific content for healthcare professionals and people affected by MS.

  • Provide guidance to Healthcare Access leadership on the comprehensive clinical content strategies and programs that support the Society's strategic priorities.

  • Serve as content steward for the Healthcare Access team and work cross-functionally with marketing colleagues to create innovative educational content.

  • Stay current with emerging MS trends, guidelines, and best practices in clinical care and medical education and work collaboratively to anticipate future needs based on changing knowledge of MS and MS treatment.

  • Ensure all clinical content is evidence-based, adhering to the highest standards of accuracy and clinical relevance.

  • Translate the needs expressed by people with MS to content for healthcare professionals.

  • Lead the development of specialty focused training and publications for clinicians.

  • Work in dynamic and adaptable teams to ensure that content is relevant, accurate, easily understood (health literacy) and consistent across all channels.

  • Provide expertise in delivery of content in a variety of ways including written and online publications, social media platforms, for both clinician based and lay audiences.

  • Facilitate training and professional development programs related to clinical content and resources.

Staff Supervision

  • Ensure staff have the tools, knowledge, and resources necessary to perform all elements of job duties as well as provide opportunities for professional development to promote career growth.

  • Conduct regular check-ins to monitor progress, provide feedback, and offer guidance and support where needed to ensure staff are fully supported in their role.

  • Coach and collaborate on goal-setting and professional development plans and conduct formal and informal performance conversations.

  • Hold staff accountable to the cultural values of the organization and ensure they follow Society operating principles.

  • Lead a high performing virtual team with trust, clarity, shared goals, and celebrated wins.

Team Responsibilities

  • Contribute to team meetings; provide support and feedback to colleagues

  • Utilize matrix management techniques to foster relationships across the organization.

  • Serve as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding clinical content and resources.

  • As appropriate, represent the Society on boards, work teams, committees and other internal or external groups.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on issues relating to clinical content or health care professional education.

  • Travel to both domestic and international key scientific and clinical meetings as appropriate.

What We're Looking For:

  • MD, DO, NP, PA, or RN preferred

  • MS certification (Multiple Sclerosis Certified Specialist or Multiple Sclerosis Certified Nurse) preferred but not required

  • Strong skills in communications, relationship-building, influencing, problem-solving and strategic thinking.

  • Substantial familiarity with non-profit and healthcare industries.

  • Experience in a healthcare system or academic medical center preferred.

  • Experience developing provider directed materials and educational content with proven metrics of success.

  • Strong understanding of clinical guidelines, evidence-based practice and healthcare regulations.

  • A demonstrated leader and people manager, with professional credibility, and ability to collaborate and cultivate relationships with internal and external constituents, and to represent the Society externally.

  • Ability to apply professional discretion and judgment to sensitive situations involving a diverse set of stakeholders with competing priorities.

  • Strong interpersonal, emotional intelligence, and negotiation skills.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Compensation | Benefits:

The estimated hiring compensation range for this role is$90,000 - $135,000. Final offers will be based on the candidate'sgeographic location, consider career experience and may vary from this range due to these and other factors.
