The Senior Project Manager coordinates and manages the technical activities of research programs in relation to the operation of individual laboratories. This position assists financial managers with development and administration of budgets and schedules. The project manager frequently interacts with other labs to serve as an advisor to faculty and lab staff to resolve facility, operational, or technical problems. Works independently in managing the labs, soliciting direction, or assistance from the PIs as required. Independent judgment is used in making decisions which affect the current and future success of the lab.



Responsibilities

    Lab strategic planning, including budgets, supply forecasting, order management, and operational organization.
  • Maintenance of compliance records and applications for animal work and biohazards.
  • Mouse colony oversight and strain management.
  • Scientific project management for specific projects under the Project Manager's control, including experimental design, interpretation, results analysis, and manuscript preparation.
  • Scientific project support for other investigators in the lab in a collaborative manner.
  • Equipment and inventory oversight.


Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in an appropriate field of technology or science and 10 years' experience as a Research Technologist/scientific project leader, or equivalent; OR an advanced Degree in an appropriate scientific field. Professional-level experience may be substituted, year-for-year, for the formal academic degree.
  • Experience with blood processing and working with infectious materials. IATA biological diagnostics, dangerous goods and infectious substances shipping strongly preferred and will be required as part of job.
  • Experience working with lab equipment, sourcing new vendors, and managing maintenance agreements.

The annual base salary range for this position is from $102,419 to $161,866, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.

This position may be eligible for relocation assistance.
