Great Hill is seeking a Senior Tactical Hardware Engineer in Tampa, FL to design, develop, integrate, and test Tactical Local Area Network (TACLAN) hardware systems in support of USSOCOM's Tactical Communications Program. This role is critical to advancing Special Operations Forces (SOF) C4 capabilities by ensuring reliable, ruggedized, and mission-ready hardware solutions. The candidate will serve as a subject matter expert across the entire hardware development life cycle-from component-level design to system-level integration and field sustainment.

Roles and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

* Lead the design and development of TACLAN hardware components and subsystems to meet operational requirements.
* Perform detailed design of test control apparatus and equipment, ensuring compliance with DoD and SOCOM standards.
* Research, design, develop, and test electronic components, ruggedized products, and tactical systems in support of SOF operations.
* Create and execute qualification testing, test plans, procedures, and verification activities for TACLAN hardware systems.
* Collaborate with software engineers to ensure seamless hardware/software integration for end-to-end mission system functionality.
* Lead hardware validation and field testing events, supporting mission users, resets, and forward deployment readiness.
* Ensure all designs are completed on schedule, within budget, and meet reliability and manufacturability standards.
* Provide subject matter expertise for hardware sustainment, lifecycle management, and configuration control.
* Support technical working groups, design reviews, and cross-functional engineering engagements within the SOCOM enterprise.

Basic Qualifications:

* Minimum SECRET clearance (mandatory).
* 7+ years of hardware engineering experience in tactical or defense environments.
* Proven expertise in component-level design, schematic development, CAD tools, and system-level integration.
* Hands-on experience in developing and executing test plans, procedures, and qualification testing.
* Strong background in hardware/software integration with mission-critical systems.
* Demonstrated ability to lead engineering projects from concept through deployment.
* Familiarity with DoD and SOCOM standards, C4ISR systems, and ruggedized tactical hardware.

Desired Skills:

* Prior experience supporting USSOCOM or Joint SOF C4 programs, particularly TACLAN or SOFNET-U/S environments.
* Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical field.
* Experience with ruggedized hardware development for deployed tactical environments.
* Knowledge of configuration management tools, reliability analysis, and sustainment engineering
