DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Configuration Management Specialist provides procedures that are to be followed by end users, to report system problems and/or to request system or requirements changes, and reports to the team Project Manager. Duties include:

Duties include:

  • Developing the baselines for all systems, developing and maintaining configuration control documentation
  • Overseeing the establishment and maintenance of configuration control procedures for the system
  • Identifying naming conventions for hardware, software, and documentation elements
  • Determining standard configurations for systems hardware and software baselines and develops and implementing strict change control procedures
  • Providing guidance and assistance with project personnel in documenting and approving engineering changes

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Ten years of progressively responsible data processing experience, which includes at least three years of experience as a configuration management specialist in a document or electronic data processing environment, and at least five years of general experience with configuration control
  • Experience with large-scale processing systems, including ability to successfully design and implement a configuration control specification for a system
  • Demonstrated knowledge of security as it relates to large scale processing systems
  • Demonstrated knowledge of computer software and hardware systems
  • Must be USC/GC/EAD with ability to obtain a public trust clearance

EDUCATION

  • Undergraduate college degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, information systems management, mathematics, or other discipline related to the requirements of this project, or equivalent experience
  • ITIL Certification Preferred
