  • Hospice care billing
  • Hospital-based billing
  • Workers' compensation (Work Comp)

Overview:

TheBilling Representative IIplays a key role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our billing operations. This position is responsible for the daily submission of electronic and paper claims, as well as resolving failed claims to support timely reimbursement. In addition to managing a high volume of claim transactions across all lines of service, this role also supports the development of team members by training Billing Representative I staff on system functionality and foundational billing procedures.

Success in this role requires a strong attention to detail, a commitment to Mercy's mission and values, and the ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or demonstrated ability to meet the position's specific duties and responsibilities.

Preferred Experience:

  • Prior experience in healthcare revenue cycle, billing, or insurance processes is strongly preferred.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word (intermediate to advanced level). Expanded knowledge of Epic systems preferred. Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, interpret, and act on data. Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining high levels of accuracy and productivity.
