Warehouse Shear Operator

• Interpret sketches, read shop orders, and other related technical data to determine the machine's setup and control settings.
• Retrieve material from the plate racks using a forklift or a handcraft.
• Position the guide and adjust the machine controls in order to set and regulate the machine factors.
• Mark the plate with reference points using a measuring tape or "Shadow Line".
• Observe the operation of the machine during the cut, checking for proper cutting and for repositioning.
• Inspect, measure, and mark each piece cut with the accurate alloy, spec, heat, and size on the material.
• Scan on and off of the order being processed and for processing any paperwork associated with the order, which includes processing of bar code tags, cycle counts, as well as exception report inventory counts.
• Keep the immediate work area clean and organized throughout the day.
• Use precision when operating tools such as tape measures, micrometers, nibblers, and calipers.
• Cross-train other team members as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1 year of warehouse experience (preferably in shearing machine operation)
• Strong work ethic; self-motivated
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills
• Ability to effectively multitask and work independently on assigned tasks
• Microsoft Office proficiency, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
