Essential Functions and Primary Duties

  • Present financial reports at the Board meetings and provide monthly financial reports to the School Sponsor.

  • Manage cash as an authorized bank account user and process accounts payable on the school's behalf.

  • Record funds received by the school, make any necessary deposits (infrequent).

  • Reconcile cash accounts.

  • Monitor investment policies established by the Board.

  • Responsible for the School's record keeping and accounting in its entirety.

  • Prepare required ODE reporting.

  • Complete EMIS sheet (OH schools only).

  • Respond to requests/questions from board, legal counsel, and sponsors.

  • Securing and setting up new clients/schools

Semi-Annual Activities

  • Budgets/budget revisions

  • Forecasts/forecast revisions

  • Federal Grant Audits

Annual Activities

  • Assist in the revision of policies

  • ODE Fiscal Data input

  • Prepare for annual audits/answer questions as needed

  • Final approval of annual 1099 submission

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Accounting, Taxation or related field

Minimum Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 6 years of experience in public accounting or related field
  • 3 years supervisory experience
  • Must have active CPA or equivalent certification
  • Ability to manage all aspects of client engagements
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
  • Must be able to travel based on client and business needs
  • Proficient use of applicable technology
