POSITION SPECIFICS Design and Engineering Services (DES)provides architectural and engineering design services for construction projects as well as civil engineering support across all Penn State campuses. Design projects primarily involve renovations to Penn State's buildings, facilities, and infrastructure. Project sizes and scopes vary from small office renovations to whole building renovations, as well as major infrastructure and plant upgrades. This position leads or supports civil engineering studies, designs, and general consultation as directed by the DES Civil Engineering group supervisor from planning through design, construction, and closeout. MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS If filled as Design Engineer - Advanced Professional, this position requires: Bachelor's Degree 3+ years of relevant experience Required Certifications: Licensed Professional Engineer - Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists If filled as Design Engineer - Senior Professional, this position requires: Bachelor's Degree 6+ years of relevant experience Required Certifications: Licensed Professional Engineer - Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and GeologistsBACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
