UCI Human Resources (HR) serves the UCI enterprise in three distinct business units: Health (Academic Hospitals and Community Network), College of Health Sciences, and Main Campus. UCI HR's vision is to empower people to drive a culture of innovation, learning, and service that requires us to enable the success of individuals within the UCI community and those who aspire to join. Your Role on the Team

Independently uses and applies wide-ranging experience and proficiency in organizational development, effectiveness, business process analysis and strategic planning on projects that involve multiple organizations and stakeholders. Uses advanced organizational development professional concepts and organization objectives to resolve complex organizational development, design and effectiveness issues. Regularly works on highly complex issues of strategic engagements where analysis of circumstances and information requires an in-depth evaluation of factors. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

The HR Project Manager is responsible for leading strategic human resources initiatives that enhance organizational effectiveness and improve employee experience across the institution. This role involves managing HR projects and will be assigned the priority project of modernizing and optimizing personnel management systems and processes.
The HR Project Manager will collaborate with leadership, cross-functional teams (e.g., HR and IT teams), and external partners to define project objectives, assess current state capabilities, and implement innovative solutions.

The HR Project Manager leads the change management process related to assigned areas. Works with the project team and leadership to identify key deliverables, timeline, communication strategy, stakeholders, resources needed, and training plan. Identify need for additional resources. Utilizes best practices approach to change management. Identify potential risks and gaps; coordinate resolution management. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
This position requires an experienced HR professional with proven expertise in project management, organizational change, and stakeholder engagement.

  • Highly skilled in facilitation, consulting and relationship building.
  • Applies strong verbal, written communication and presentation skills.
  • Possesses strong consulting, relationship building, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Demonstrates skill consulting with managers and groups at all levels.
  • Ability to coach, facilitate and influence people at all levels.
  • Demonstrates ability to learn quickly, reason, synthesize and generalize based on information obtained; sound judgment; ability to draw unbiased conclusions.
  • Ability to focus on priorities, strategies, and vision.
  • Knowledge of the consulting process to effectively lead engagements from inception to conclusion.
  • Ability to persuade through both logic and appeal to positive motivations.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with leadership and stakeholders across the enterprise to develop new initiatives or resolve highly complex issues.
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
  • Advanced degree preferred.
  • 5-8 years HR leadership experience.

Preferred:

  • SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR
  • Project management certificate and/or Six Sigma or Lean

This position is a 1-year contract

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $108,900 - $156,500 (Annual).
