Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Leave of Absence Analyst to join our HR Operations team. This role will be instrumental in managing employee leaves of absence, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and company policies-including the new Minnesota Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML) program-and administering wage supplementation calculations. The incumbent will also support payroll processing and reporting functions related to leave events.


This position also offers the opportunity to contribute to process improvement initiatives and collaborate across departments to enhance the employee experience.


Key Responsibilities:


Leave of Absence Administration (50%)



  • Administer and track employee leaves including FMLA, PFML (effective 1/1/2026), short-term disability, long-term disability, parental leave, and other statutory or company-sponsored leaves
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees and managers regarding leave eligibility, documentation, and status updates
  • Ensure compliance with Minnesota PFML regulations, including employee notice requirements


Payroll Support (40%)



  • Calculate wage supplementation for employees receiving partial wage replacement under PFML, ensuring accurate coordination with employer-provided benefits
  • Collaborate with payroll to ensure accurate deductions and remittances of PFML premiums starting January 1, 2026
  • Assist in payroll processing for employees on leave, ensuring compliance with wage laws and internal policies
  • Oversee the benefit premium reconciliation process


Compliance & Reporting (10%)



  • Maintain accurate records of leave and payroll transactions
  • Prepare reports for internal stakeholders and external agencies as required
  • Stay current on changes to PFML and other leave-related legislation and update internal processes accordingly


Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience administering and managing leave cases with demonstrated knowledge of FMLA leaves
  • Familiarity with ADA, Workers' Compensation, and related employment laws
  • Understanding of payroll processes and how they intersect with leave administration

This position is an Office role, which requires an employee to work onsite at our Minnetonka, MN office, on average, 3 days per week.

The full salary range for this position is $44,900 - $77,000. Annual salary range placement will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, education, work experience, applicable certifications and/or licensure, the position's scope and responsibility, internal pay equity and external market salary data.
