This position is accountable for overseeing day-to-day operational activities, accurately assess the workload and deploy available team resources optimally, maintain compliance and quality standards and ensure timely billing and collection of receivables to avoid loss of revenue. This leader will work report to the Revenue Cycle Manager and aid in development of annual revenue cycle goals.

  • Oversee day-to-day operational activities, accurately assess the workload and deploy available team resources optimally.
  • Maintain compliance and quality standards and ensure timely billing and collection of receivables to avoid loss of revenue. Aid in development of annual A/R goals.
  • Perform audits and address outcomes as appropriate, monitor the A/R and ensure that key performance metrics are met.
  • Perform account audits to ensure proper application of payments and adjustments and that appropriate action steps are taken in addressing resolution of balance.
  • Approve timecards and PTO requests.

  • Ensure accurate review and processing of complex medical claims within time service standards.
  • Ensure requests for reconsideration of claims are processed within time service standards.
  • Monitor staff productivity by ongoing statistical evaluation, reviewing directly with staff and responding to areas of needed improvement.
  • Regularly communicate department's status to the Manager comprehensively outlining problematic workload/workflow issues and solutions being implemented.
  • Participate in the development of performance standards and corrective action plans. Changes in policies and final hiring/termination decisions to be referred for consideration to the Manager.
  • Aide in the development and maintenance of department policies, procedures, workflows, and employee files.
  • Ensures initial and ongoing training of team members is completed.
  • Provides punctual performance evaluations for the staff.
  • Assists and/or provides feedback to clinic leadership to ensure a smooth interface between clinic and Business Office staff.
  • Collaborate with Denials Management and Contracting departments to identify opportunities to reduce denials.
  • Escalate unresolved issues appropriately and recommend solutions to minimize future problems.
  • Ensure monthly statistical reports and duties are completed timely.
  • Perform other work-related duties and special projects as assigned by the Manager.
  • Acquire and upgrade personal knowledge and skills necessary for continued employment and career advancement.
  • Facilitate regularly scheduled meetings with functional teams in order to promote teamwork, enhance understanding of workflows, and maintain open lines of communication.


Required Qualifications:



  • 3 years Medical account collection experience.
  • A track record in taking decisive action to implement new processes, solutions or changes.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Associate's Degree in Accounting or Business. or
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business. or equivalent educ/experience
  • 3 years experience in lieu of degree
