Mission of Cash Services:

Our mission is to collaborate with our District and System colleagues to ensure that the integrity of U.S. Banknotes as a system of payment is maintained at the highest possible quality level. We achieve this objective by receiving deposits, verifying them, and paying out orders to depository institutions that participate in the cash life cycle; all along ensuring that our operation meets or exceeds all controls as outlined by the agencies that govern our roles and monitor our compliance.

Position Overview:

The Group Vice President (GVP), Cash Services leads the 12th District Cash Services group, which includes oversight for the five cash operations in the District (San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, Salt Lake City, Phoenix) and the District Cash Support team. As the head of Cash Services, the GVP ensures that the cash operations meet their operational goals of accepting deposits of excess and unfit currency from depository financial institutions, preparing currency and coin for distribution, and removing counterfeit and unfit currency from circulation. The GVP also sets the District's Cash Services strategy and long-term objectives and directs the cash operations leadership team in achieving these objectives.

Highlights of Responsibilities:

  • Sets the District Cash Services strategy and long-term objectives, ensuring alignment with System Cash and Bank strategy and objectives, and directs the Cash operations leadership teams in achieving the long-term objectives.

  • Directs and oversees the Cash operations to ensure they meet operational metrics around compliance, productivity, staffing, budget, inventory management, and training.

  • Oversee District Cash Support to ensure that it is effectively supporting the Cash Operations through its compliance, training, budget oversight, and analytics work.

  • Ensure cash operations are effectively staffed and managed to assess and mitigate risk, and respond to critical business continuity events.

  • Support the growth and development of Cash Services staff through ongoing training and special programs.

  • Oversee expense budgets and long-term capital planning to ensure alignment with the strategic needs of the group, Bank, and System.

  • Lead and/or participate on System workgroups to help influence the strategy of System Cash and share best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Typically, 15+ years of relevant experience; requires 12+ years of progressive people and business management experience and 5+ years of leading major projects/initiatives

  • Bachelor's degree required or equivalent work experience; Master's degree preferred

  • Superior people management, interpersonal and organization skills

  • Strong critical thinking and innovative problem-solving skills, and the ability to synthesize a range of data and information

  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task work and perform well under pressure

  • Excellent writing, speaking, negotiation and presentation skills

  • Proven project management skills with a focus on building high performance relationships and processes to drive projects forward

  • Proven ability to anticipate and solve complex business issues in a well-informed, accurate, and logical manner

  • Demonstrated experience and versatility working collaboratively across offices and functions to build relationships and influence key constituents, both internally and externally

  • Proven ability to initiate action, adapt to change, make difficult decisions and accept challenging assignments

  • Demonstrated ability to assess and when necessary, adapt new strategies to achieve key objectives in a dynamic environment

  • *Must be able to work on site full time at either our San Francisco or Los Angeles locations.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in a highly regulated and compliance-oriented environment

  • Senior level leadership and project management experience

Base Salary Range: Min: $255,000- Mid: $330,500- Max: $406,000 (Location: San Francisco or Los Angeles)

Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant's background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographic and other market data.
