POSITION

The Portfolio Engineer will play a pivotal role in bridging investment and implementation by designing and managing desk tools and supporting data flows that feed into portfolio construction, analytics, and execution. This role sits within the Investment COO Office and contributes directly to the operational excellence and scalability of investment teams.

We currently operate in a hybrid working model, whereby you will be required to work in-office 3 days a week.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and maintain portfolio management desk tools, for analytics, reporting, and implementation.
• Collaborate with portfolio managers and analysts to translate investment technology ideas into high quality prototypes.
• Support systematic and discretionary investment processes through automation and data integration.
• Ensure data integrity and consistency across the desk top toolkit.
• Partner with technology and operations teams to enhance system capabilities and resolve workflow issues on a tactical basis.
• Participate in backlog prioritisation and sprint planning for portfolio-related development initiatives.
• Provide technical support and training to investment teams on portfolio tools and processes.

CANDIDATE

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient individual with a passion for working with investment teams to understand their requirements and Engineering & Technology to provide high quality desk tool prototypes. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative environment and demonstrates a strong ability to translate investment needs into scalable solutions.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in portfolio management, investment operations, or financial technology.
• Proficiency in portfolio analytics platforms (e.g., Bloomberg PORT, FactSet, Power BI).
• Proficiency in Excel/Macro programming
• Strong understanding of investment products and asset classes.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Advanced degree (e.g., MSc, MBA, CFA, FRM).
• Programming skills in Python, SQL, or similar languages.
• Prior experience in asset management firms or investment banks
• Experience building UI in python.
• Solving optimizations using python
