DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will have the responsibility of overseeing and managing the provision of health care services to inmates. This includes both contracted and non-contracted services, such as inpatient and outpatient treatment. Your main focus will be on ensuring that the care provided is of high quality and consistent, within a safe and secure environment. You will also be responsible for reviewing, documenting, and reporting on all health care service activities to the Deputy for Centralized Services, as well as advising the Bureau of Health Care Services and the Deputy Superintendents on any necessary changes, programs, or issues that may arise. In order to effectively administer these programs, you will supervise a team of professional, technical, and clerical staff.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six years of professional medical experience in the care and treatment of the physically ill, which included three years of supervisory or administrative experience in a hospital or infirmary, and a bachelor's degree in a health related field; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training, which included three years of supervisory or administrative experience in a hospital or infirmary.

Additional Requirements:

  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
