If you are graduating with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or Cybersecurity, we'd love to have you join our team!

We are seeking a motivated Cybersecurity Analyst to join our team. This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of several National Security Analysis Department (NSAD) technical collaborative DCSA Approved Areas.

Your role on our team will involve enhancing the cybersecurity of our nation and furthering APL's mission of innovation. We strive to champion an environment of creativity and our team values independent thinking.

As a Cybersecurity Analyst, you will...
  • Provide technical, logistical, operational, and security knowledge in leading, handling and coordinating NSAD's Information Technology (IT), using current APL, NISPOM, Risk Management Framework (RMF), DoD requirements, and sponsor directives in partnership with the ISSO.
  • Write, develop and maintain security documentation in accordance with DoD and DCSA requirements.
  • Be a key member of NSAD's Vulnerability Management Program.
  • Assist the team in building solutions for Containerization Vulnerability Management to further our Generative AI Initiative and other APL sponsor programs.
  • Be a primary manager of the NSAD software procurement process.
  • Get to help us build secure solutions in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning!

Qualifications

You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you have...

  • A bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Can complete a Security+ CE certification or another DoDD 8140 IAT Level II baseline certification.
  • Basic understanding of Vulnerability Management.
  • Familiarity with the significance and requirement for security audits and compliance.
  • The ability to independently analyze and identify issues and develop processes or solutions to address them when they arise.
  • Are willing to work full time in a DCSA Approved Area/Closed Area on site.
  • Are able to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain Secret level clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

You'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you...

  • A graduate degree in one of the IT related degrees.
  • A DoDD 8140 IAM Level II Certification, such as a CISSP or CISM.
  • An existing Secret clearance.

The referenced pay range is based on JHU APL's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level with consideration for internal parity. For salaried employees scheduled to work less than 40 hours per week, annual salary will be prorated based on the number of hours worked. APL may offer bonuses or other forms of compensation per internal policy and/or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be provided in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, locality allowance or discretionary payments for exceptional performance. APL provides eligible staff with a comprehensive benefits package including retirement plans, paid time off, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, flexible spending accounts, education assistance, and training and development.
