The Senior Field Technician is responsible for transporting equipment commercially, deploying and maintaining on-course power systems, digital scoreboards, and statistical data collection components. This position will train staff in troubleshooting and or problem resolution of the ShotLink scoring system during tournament week, with a focus on detail and clear communication to the technical/production team. Will be responsible for testing all equipment prior to first round as well as provide training to our ShotLink volunteer team. This position requires 80 percent travel both domestic and international.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Technical Associate degree preferred, high school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Five years of related experience, preferably in the following areas: outdoor construction, golf operations, tool usage, basic computer skills, military service, utility/power installation.

  • Two years of experience in a Field Technician role preferred.

  • Must be dependable and Prompt; proactively take initiative to solve problems.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Clean driving record and CDL preferred.

  • Prior customer service preferred.

  • Basic technical knowledge for mechanical and electrical equipment.

  • Must be able to multitask and have strong organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently, but also in a team environment.

  • Golf knowledge preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

  • Manage scoring data for assigned/designated holes each week

  • Train new employees on TEL protocols and procedures of the ShotLink Scoring System equipment.

  • Expert at installing, configuring and troubleshooting ShotLink Scoring System equipment; including cameras, scoreboards, laptops and other equipment throughout the golf course to mitigate loss of data which would have an adverse effect on contractual obligations.

  • Manage the assembly and deployment of scoreboards and their structures onto the golf course.

  • Architect the deployment of the tournament power systems and equipment...and be responsible for potential issue resolutions that can arise (e.g. weather, power, vendor support).

  • Supervise vendors and coordinate with golf course superintendents, agronomists and rules officials to ensure the proper placement and function of equipment.

  • Ensure all safety and competition protocols are followed.

  • Manage weekly inventory of propane generators, including regular maintenance and any repairs.

  • Ensure proper set up and correct locations of ShotLink trailers, portable structure trailers, fiber trailers and scoreboard trailers.

  • Scoring duties include training up to 200 volunteers on scoring devices (fairway lasers, tablets, voice radios), addressing any potential equipment issues, maintain and replace devices.

  • Assist with unloading, packing and completing asset inventory.

  • Special projects or other duties as assigned.

Field:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to a variety of outdoor weather conditions and occasionally long hours. Position is very active and requires lifting, pulling or pushing 75+ pounds with awkward sizes.
