Job Description

VPT, Inc., a global leader in providing power conversion solutions for use in avionics, military, space and industrial applications, has an immediate opening for a full-time Sustaining Process Engineer at our Blacksburg, VA headquarters reporting to our Chief Operating Officer.



Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:



  • Solve process and material related problems to increase quality, yield, and throughput
  • Improve or introduce new processes and materials for existing products
  • Design and manage experiments (DOEs) to validate improvements
  • Create and edit procedures and other production documentation
  • Travel (international and domestic) to production facilities to evaluate process and materials


Because of the nature of this position a US person is required

Requirements

Preferred Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering or Industrial Engineering
  • Previous experience as a Sustaining Process Engineer or equivalent
  • Background in electronics assembly processes
  • Understanding of materials used in electronics manufacturing and their interactions with one another (solders, epoxies, platings, etc.)
  • Understanding of thick-film hybrid technology
