Responsibilities

The ASIC Product Engineer is responsible for supporting a wide variety of high-mix/low volume ASICs (DACs, Amps and PreAmps, Attenuators, ADCs, Triggers, etc.) designed and tested within Keysight's Colorado Springs Technology Center. Although Wafer/ASIC Packaging is performed in other locations, a deep understanding of those technologies, processes, failure modes, test methodologies, etc. is critical for this role. This is not a Test Engineering role, though some knowledge of Wafer and ASIC test is beneficial.

Typical support activities include:

  • Troubleshooting DC/RF test failures in production (most parts are tested on an Advantest 93K test system)
  • Evaluating data trends/yields for tested parts, including statistical analyses, paretos, and limit setting
  • Visual inspections of wafers, packaged parts, and test HW for potential issues
  • Working with ASIC design teams to ensure a smooth transition to production
  • The typical product engineer handles 30-50 products with volumes ranging from 20/year to 15k/year
  • Continuous Process Improvement including Six Sigma and LEAN are a focus of our operations
  • Excellent communication, data analysis, and teamwork skills are critical to success in this role
  • Experience performing physical failure analysis (SEM, Ultrasonic, cross-sectioning, and XRF tool) is not required, but is highly desirable.
