Description

Tesco Controls is seeking a Project Engineer I to support the design and execution of project engineering activities. In this role, you will assist with reviewing specifications, developing project timelines and reports, participating in design reviews, and creating basic mechanical designs. You will also help prepare documentation packages, support pre-production builds, and coordinate transitions into production.

This entry-level position provides hands-on experience and technical exposure by contributing to defined engineering tasks under direct supervision. Using established methods and guidance from senior engineers, you will complete specific portions of larger engineering assignments while building your technical and project-execution skills.

Requirements

What you will do:

  • Perform routine engineering tasks using standard techniques and procedures.
  • Assist in reviewing and approving contractor plans, including scope, schedule, budget, risks, and work breakdown structures.
  • Produce high-quality deliverables that meet customer expectations and comply with TESCO standards.
  • Understand project requirements-scope, budget, schedule-and support the Project Engineer and Project Manager in meeting expectations.
  • Gather input from internal teams and provide support to others as needed.
  • Support technical direction, act as a point of contact, prepare briefings, and assist with project-specific problem solving.
  • Participate in project teams and activities related to new product development.
  • Apply TESCO standards and guidelines; seek peer reviews when appropriate.
  • Complete assigned tasks within set budgets and timelines; monitor and report impacts to the Project Engineer and Project Manager.
  • Communicate project specifications clearly and perform additional duties as assigned.

Demonstrated Skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret schematics.
  • Strong understanding of electrical components, systems, and equipment.
  • Awareness of manufacturing workflows and planning processes.
  • Commitment to ongoing learning through formal training and professional publications.

Education & Knowledge:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE).
  • Proficiency with MS Office and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Strong understanding of electrical/electronic and mechanical theories.
  • Extensive experience with AutoCAD and computer-aided engineering/design tools.

Experience:

  • Preferred experience in electrical/electronic design, including analog, digital, or high-voltage circuits.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Work Environment:

  • Work performed in both office and production/manufacturing settings.

Pay will depend on education, experience, skills, and location. The posted range reflects our current expectations but may change. Tesco also offers a benefits package with health coverage, paid time off, holidays, and a 100% match on 401K contributions up to 4% of earnings.
