Microsoft Tax & Customs Department is responsible for Worldwide Tax & Customs Reporting, Compliance, and Planning, including the technology and process & innovation functions to support the coordination of the worldwide tax and Customs functions. There are three major functions within the Tax and Customs Department. 1) Tax Reporting and Transfer Pricing 2) Corporate Tax Planning & Controversies, Indirect Tax & Global Business Initiatives and 3) Tax & Customs Controllership, Customs, Policy, and Benefits Taxation. As the Washington, DC based Director Tax Affairs, you will: 1) Coordinate tax and finance government affairs activities with our Tax & Customs Corporate Vice President, General Managers, Tax Policy Counsel and Corporate Government Affairs professionals to ensure integration of priorities and effective utilization of our corporate government affairs resources: 2)Develop strategies to achieve Tax and Finance's legislative and regulatory objectives; 3) Enhance Tax and Finance relationships with policy makers and increase our ability to communicate individually and directly on issues important to Tax and Finance; and 4) Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop legislative and regulatory objectives and effective communications with policy makers. ResponsibilitiesCoordinate tax and finance government affairs activities with our GM, Tax Policy Counsel and Corporate Government Affairs professionals to ensure integration of priorities and effective utilization of our Corporate Government Affairs resources. Develop strategies to achieve Tax and Finance's legislative and regulatory objectives. Enhance Tax and Finance relationships within the Washington, DC and global business and professional community to identify issues and gather information and directly work on important issues to Tax and Finance. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop legislative and regulatory objectives and effective communications with policy makers. Assist in the management of our legislative and regulatory outside advisors with respect to fees, deliverables, and choice of best vehicles to accomplish our objectives. |
