Genesis10 is currently seeking a Production/Technical Support with our client in the financial industry located in Plano, TX and Charlotte, NC. This is a 12+ month contract position.

Responsibilities:


  • Lead production support triage efforts, manage bridge line troubleshooting, engage in technical research, and escalate issues to leadership as needed
  • Ensure all impacts are accurately recorded and documented in the system of record, oversee that documents and wikis are updated and available for use during triage, and support the documentation of application flows, upstream/downstream impacts during outages, the customer experience, and contacts for support needs
  • Identify and/or validate business impacts through interpretation of monitors, dashboards, and logs to communicate with leadership and vendors
  • Manage activities to identify incident root cause, resolution, preventative actions, and change requests, and reports on incident data quality
  • Promote and enforce production governance during triage/testing and identify production failure scenarios, vulnerabilities, and opportunities for improvement
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for applications within a portfolio, leverage extensive knowledge of application functionalities and application flows
  • Assess and prioritize research requests, ad hoc reports, and offline incidents at the direction of senior team members and delegates work as needed to team members and peers
  • Run start-of-day application health checks
  • Perform traffic routing, take servers out of tier, add servers into tier, take java core dumps for root cause analysis, recycle jvms, warm up jvms, and add servers into tier during production issues on need basis
  • Review/Update application MRDs (monitoring requirement documents) for proper monitoring
  • Provide application release/Change Support
  • Review upcoming changes and the change runbooks (detailed task steps)
  • Execute the approved changes in production without any errors
  • Support ARC/DR/Data center Isolation exercises
  • Work under minimal supervision and independently
  • Identify opportunities for monitoring and automation
  • Develop tools, dashboards, reports, alerts using various tools like Splunk, Dynatrace to aid and improvise monitoring and day to day tasks to reduce resource overhead
  • Identify stability and risk items in Production, work with various teams to remediate and ensure production environment is stable, available, and resilient
  • Execute Bladelogic scripts to route traffic/recycle JVMs/enable/disable MQs
  • Routing traffic using AIC tool
  • Recycle JVMs using IBM Websphere/Jboss/Tomcat admin consoles
  • Enable/Disable MQs using Nastel Navigator



Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proven experience in production support or a related role
  • Experience in supporting Java/Java web services based applications with high volume transactions
  • Working knowledge of Splunk and Dynatrace tools to identify issues in production quickly
  • Basic knowledge of using Unix/Linux commands to login into servers, fetch logs, copy/delete files, run shell scripts
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with incident and problem management processes
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently
  • Experience with Remedy, Service now, JIRA in creating/updating/closing incident tickets
  • Experience in using SoapUI tool to test SOAP/REST APIs
  • Working knowledge of SQL and running queries in any DB (DB2, Oracle)



Pay Range: $36.35-$44.35
