Overview
VTG is seeking a Project Specialist 3 located in Virginia Beach, VA.
What will you do?
The Project Specialist is responsible for supporting project management and technical teams by executing and coordinating various project-related tasks. This role combines technical drafting expertise with administrative and logistical duties, including organizing project paperwork, procuring materials, and serving as a key communication link between the customer and the project team. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Technical drafting and design:
- Create, review, and modify technical drawings, schematics, and plans using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software, based on project specifications.
- Interpret blueprints and engineering documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
Administrative and project coordination:
- Organize and maintain all project documentation, including contracts, drawings, reports, and change orders.
- Coordinate with engineers, drafters, and other internal teams to ensure all project documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
Procurement and logistics:
- Maintain material lists for projects and coordinate with the internal Purchasing Department, suppliers, and vendors to order and track materials.
- Assist with monitoring material deliveries to ensure they arrive on time and are in good condition.
Communication and customer service:
- Serve as a primary point of contact for customer inquiries, providing project updates and resolving issues.
- Coordinate with contractors, inspectors, and other external stakeholders to facilitate a smooth workflow.
- Assemble and submit project packages to the production manager.
Quality assurance and control:
- Provide and or highlight quality control checks on project deliverables to ensure they meet established standards and client expectations.
- Inspect products during development to ensure adherence to technical specifications.
Do you have what it takes?
Education and/or Experience
- High School Diploma/GED
- Proficiency in CAD software and standard business applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, Excel).
- Possess a solid understanding of trade mathematics and measurement systems.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing project requirements.
- Knowledge of project management principles is a plus.
