Employment Type: Full-Time | C Shift (Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and every other Wednesday, 5:45 AM - 6:15 PM)

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Equipment Maintenance Technician to join Polar Semiconductor on our C Shift team. In this role, you will perform preventive maintenance, calibrations, and repairs on semiconductor production equipment and systems. You will document all maintenance activities, work closely with engineers to improve procedures, and ensure safe operation in a cleanroom environment. This is a hands-on role requiring technical troubleshooting, teamwork, and commitment to continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete required safety training and follow all safety policies.

  • Perform preventive maintenance, calibrations, and repairs on production equipment.

  • Document all work performed and complete PM checklists and procedures.

  • Partner with engineering to improve PM procedures and controlled documentation.

  • Safely perform work in hazardous environments using proper PPE (including SCBA or respirator).

  • Support continuous improvement programs to minimize downtime and increase availability.

  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with maintenance, engineering, and production teams.

  • Participate on the Emergency Response Team.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Associate degree in electronics, mechatronics, automation, or mechanical field; or equivalent military training; or 24+ months of semiconductor equipment maintenance experience.

  • Proficiency in electrical circuits, pneumatics, and mechanical systems.

  • Knowledge of test and calibration equipment (oscilloscopes, DMMs, etc.).

  • Familiarity with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Strong troubleshooting skills with root cause focus.

  • Skilled in proper use of hand tools and PPE.

  • Strong multitasking, time management, and prioritization skills.

  • Ability to work independently while following established procedures.

Preferred:

  • Previous experience with vacuum systems or semiconductor equipment such as:

    • ASML Steppers and Scanners

    • TEL Tracks

    • DNS Scrubbers

    • Fusion Systems

    • KLA CD / Inspection / Overlay Tools

    • Ellipsometry Equipment

    • Nikon Inspection Scopes

Physical Requirements

This position requires working 12-hour shifts in a cleanroom environment, wearing full cleanroom attire (bunny suit, mask, gloves, protective eyewear, and booties). Technicians must be able to:

  • Stand and walk for extended periods.

  • Gown/degown multiple times per shift.

  • Wear PPE for hazardous chemicals and high-temperature environments.

  • Use fine motor skills for handling small tools (pliers, screwdrivers, meters, keyboards, etc.).

  • Work in confined spaces and perform tasks involving bending, squatting, kneeling, and stooping.

  • Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs (most common is 10-25 lbs).

  • Safely perform tool maintenance in areas with high voltage, toxic gases, and chemicals.

  • Maintain strong attention to detail and effective documentation skills.

What We Offer

Salary: $28.00 - $34.00 per hour (plus applicable shift differentials)
