The Senior CNC Programmer will be responsible for providing expert-level CNC programming and process optimization that ensures high-precision, efficient machining operations. This role is located in Pine Hall, NC and will be fully on-site. Starting Pay: $37 per hour Schedule: 1st shift Pay Schedule: bi-weekly
Responsibilities
Senior CNC Programmer Responsibilities:
Use CAMWorks, Mastercam, and Fanuc/Mazak controls to create and optimize CNC programs for complex, multi-axis components.
- Post-process and verify code compatibility with machine tools.
- Develop advanced toolpaths for maximum efficiency, accuracy, and tool life.
- Lead root cause analysis of machining issues and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with engineering on design-for-manufacturability.
- Set up machines, run test pieces, and validate programs with setup personnel.
- Design and refine advanced tooling and fixture solutions to ensure repeatability and process reliability.
- Oversee validation of first-time setups for long-term production stability.
- Ensure all programs and processes comply with customer specifications, ITAR, and company standards.
- Support first article inspections, audits, and documentation of programming procedures.
- Lead process improvement initiatives to reduce cycle time, scrap, and tooling costs.
- Research and integrate new CNC programming technologies, software, and automation solutions.
- Act as a resource for best practices in CNC machining and programming.
Senior CNC Programmer Qualifications: Required:
- Associate's Degree in Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, or related field (Bachelor's preferred).
- Minimum 8-10 years CNC programming and machining experience.
- Proven expertise with CAMWorks, Mastercam, or equivalent CAM systems.
- Strong G-code and multi-axis machining knowledge.
- Ability to mentor and provide technical leadership.
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and process optimization skills.
- Ability to clearly communicate technical information across departments.
- This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations ("ITAR") and the ability to access and handle ITAR "Technical Data" as defined by 22 CFR * 120.33 is an essential function.
Preferred:
- Aerospace or defense manufacturing experience.
- Waterjet or EDM programming experience.
- Project leadership or supervisory background.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement tools.
