Overview

LMI is in search of a highly motivated and mission-driven Systems Operator Training expert to support the U.S. Customs and Border Protection's mission at the nation's borders. This vital role aims to ensure that the next generation of U.S. Border Patrol system operators are well-equipped with the necessary technical skills, operational knowledge, and analytical mindset to perform reliably and efficiently.

As a Systems Operator Training Consultant, you will be tasked with developing and implementing training programs, managing training records, and continuously improving training initiatives for both new and existing system operators. Key responsibilities include ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, fostering a culture of safety and operational excellence, and driving the development of best practices within the U.S. Border Patrol (USBP) Program Management Office Directorate (PMOD). This position is eligible for remote work/telework, with occasional travel required.

Responsibilities

    Serve as the main advisor and liaison for operational training programs, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
  • Responsible for developing, coordinating, and managing various training initiatives and performance metrics, as well as implementing improvement actions.
  • Work closely with USBP managers, team leads, and subject matter experts to ensure that training programs meet current mission requirements.
  • Organize and provide administrative support for site visits, workshops, and remote training activities to ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintain and update knowledge exchange platforms, such as SharePoint sites, action item trackers, and distribution lists, making sure that information is accessible to relevant personnel.
  • Track the completion of training programs and support the maintenance of credentials for trained personnel.
  • Maintain a resource library or knowledge portal, ensuring that it is accessible to fielded personnel and team leaders.
  • Ensure that all training programs comply with government regulations, standards, and readiness reporting requirements.


Qualifications

  • Ability to pass government background investigations, including financial, criminal, residential, educational, foreign affiliation, prohibited substance abuse, and employment verifications.
  • An active U.S. Customs and Border Protection background investigation preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing or coordinating large-scale training programs or projects.
  • Working knowledge of USBP or other surveillance technology programs preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Ability to effectively solve problems.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • A collaborative team member who maintains a professional attitude in a dynamic environment.
