Job Summary:

The Senior Informatics Clinician at Surescripts plays a key role in transforming healthcare by enhancing patient safety, streamlining clinical workflows, and shaping the future of care through our trusted nationwide network. This client-facing position works closely with senior informatics staff and external partners, including EHR vendors, pharmacies, and payers.

The individual will be responsible for supporting clinical data analysis, project coordination, solution requirements, and customer engagement. The incumbent will demonstrate strong communication with a clinical background and a passion for healthcare technology.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in projects that support clinical data quality and clinical workflow improvements.

  • Define requirements for innovative capabilities to use clinical data in Surescripts' solutions

  • Execute against project plans to ensure continued progress of key informatics initiatives.

  • Serve as a clinical subject matter expert by analyzing clinical data and clearly communicating its results, value, and impact to both internal and external customers.

  • Support senior team members in analyzing clinical data and preparing reports.

  • Participate in virtual and in-person meetings with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Help maintain documentation and dashboards for ongoing projects.

  • Participate in clinical content creation and maintenance.

  • Contribute to customer support efforts through data analysis and providing clinical insights.

  • Apply knowledge of clinical terminologies (e.g., RxNorm, SNOMED) and data standards to help identify meaningful clinical insights in EHR and other clinical data sources.

  • Support initiatives using AI and other data analysis tools to advance clinical solutions.

Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a clinical discipline (e.g., BSN, BS Pharm) and 5+ years of relevant clinical or informatics experience; or commensurate experience via the combination of an advanced clinical degree (e.g., MSN, MPAS, MD, PharmD, DNP) or advanced clinical informatics program, and relevant clinical or informatics experience.

  • Demonstrated experience contributing to complex strategic initiatives such as health information technology implementations, product launches, or other key business programs

  • Experience creating and delivering clinical data analyses

  • Advanced knowledge of basic data querying and manipulation using tools such as Microsoft Excel and SQL

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of clinical data analysis experience using terminologies such as RxNorm, SNOMED, and/or drug compendium such as First Databank, Medispan, or Multum.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an eye to customer needs and viewpoints.

  • Ability to break down complex internal and external stakeholder input and product detail into clear talking points.

  • Proficiency in data analysis using programming languages such as Python or R, with exposure to AI tools, Jupyter Notebooks and other related technologies

  • 1+ years of experience identifying high-level requirements for health IT solutions

At Surescripts, base pay is one part of our Total Rewards Package (which may also include bonus, benefits etc.) and is determined within a range. The base pay range for this position is $127,800 - $156,200 per year. Your base pay may vary within or outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including (but not limited to) your qualifications, skills, experience, and location.
