You have deep knowledge of and experience with manufacturing processes. You understand the importance of building relationships, establishing order, and maintaining clear communication channels. As a Manufacturing Superintendent, you are a leader who is willing to listen and inspire others by your actions. Your role as Superintendent positions you to be directly involved in the physical production that enables Baxter to fulfill our mission to save and sustain lives. You manage the line between meeting production timelines and making quality products. As a manager, you are the trusted critical connection between the business and the workers on the floor.

Your Team

Cleveland's technology and automation are innovative. It is the U.S. sole source for plastic pour bottles, glass IV, and various reconstitution devices. This facility has a number of major product lines with a diverse array of automated manufacturing technologies ranging from bottle solution filling, injection molding, and device assembly.

What you'll be doing
  • Responsible for meeting production requirements, delivering quality products to customers in a timely fashion and cost-efficient manner.
  • Identify/prioritize/provide resources to assist the department manager to meet the annual operating plan and budgetary commitments.
  • Supervise the daily manufacturing operations across a department or multiple departments.
  • Emphasize training and implement control systems on the shift or multiple shifts to eliminate product discrepancies.
  • Contribute to employee feedback and developmental processes.
  • Provide a positive and equitable working environment emphasizing the Baxter Shared Values: Respect/Responsiveness/Results.
  • Support and emphasize the Safety and Quality commitments of the department.
  • Collaborate with other managers/customers to ensure our quality commitments are met. Also to ensure consistency in personnel policy administration across the plant.
  • Help prepare budgets and forecasts for areas of responsibility.
  • Make staffing decisions.
  • Investigate and resolve disciplinary issues up to and including suspensions and terminations.
  • Will be responsible for driving operational excellence and flawless execution in the areas of cost reduction, discard reduction, annual productivity improvements, inventory turnover, regulatory excellence including exception reduction and internal/external regulatory commitment management, on time delivery and lead time reduction, improving the overall safety of the work environment, leadership development and the ability to create a vibrant continuous improvement culture based on the principles of QLP, Lean Manufacturing, total employee involvement and DMAIC problem solving
  • Perform analytical review, recommend, and implement corrective action for any exception condition.
  • Sustain a clean and safe work area using 6S principles
  • Learn, understand and apply thorough quality standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
What you'll bring
  • Bachelors required. Preferably in a technical field (Technology or Engineering).
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience in production manufacturing.
  • Ability to manage activities of departments through subordinates who exercise full supervision in terms of cost, methods, and employees.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze statistical data and information and financial reports, understand and resolve technical difficulties, work with internal engineering/technical experts and external technical representatives, manage multiple priorities in a manufacturing plant setting, be resourceful to a large manufacturing department.
  • Knowledge of World Class manufacturing methods (QLP, Lean, Six Sigma), Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Drug and Administration guidelines and process validation.
  • Understand verbal and written safety and quality instructions and read and comprehend written work instructions including words and drawings.
  • Must have basic English written and oral communication skills adequate to connect with other team members.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $88,000 - $110,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, commission, and/or long-term incentive.
