We are seeking a full-time, 40-hour Registered Nurse Lead to join our Internal Medicine team. The operating hours of the department are Monday through Friday 8:00am-5:00pm, so the schedule is staggered based on the operational needs of the practice.
This position will have direct oversight of the IM clinical staff and involvement with process improvement.
Accountable for interpreting the plan of medical care, assessment of patients' clinical decision-making regarding nursing care, assuring nursing care is provided in a safe and competent manner, providing individualized nursing care, and evaluating nursing care for groups of patients. Acts in lead capacity to other nursing staff.

Essential Functions
-Maintain accurate, detailed reports, and records.
-Administer medication to patients and monitor patients for reactions or side effects.
-Record patients' medical information and vital signs.
-Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.
-Collaborates with nurse managers and staff to assess the learning needs and competencies of staff.
-Demonstrates best practices for staff to follow.
-May participate on teams or perform special projects/assignments.

Education
Associate's Degree Nursing required or Bachelor's Degree Nursing preferred

Licenses and Credentials
Registered Nurse [RN - State License] required

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support [ACLS] preferred

Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] preferred

Oncology Certified Nurse [OCN] - Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) preferred

Neonatal Advanced Life Support [NALS] - American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) preferred

Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certification preferred

Experience
Clinical nursing experience 2-3 years required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Familiarity with the principles and skills needed for practical nursing to provide patient care and treatment.
- Knowledgeable of the care required by respective age groups for which care is being provided.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships.
- Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.

Strongly Preferred:

  • Leadership experience
  • Epic experience
