Description

Applied Training Solutions, LLC (ATS) is seeking highly skilled and motivated Motor Vehicle Mechanic Helpers to support operations at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Artesia, New Mexico.

The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for automotive maintenance and repair, a willingness to learn, and a desire to grow in the automotive industry. As a Motor Vehicle Mechanic Helper, you will play a crucial role in supporting our experienced mechanics with a variety of tasks to ensure efficient operations and top-quality service.

Requirements



  • Assist experienced mechanics with vehicle maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Perform basic inspections and diagnostics on vehicles.
  • Help with the disassembly and reassembly of vehicle components.
  • Keep the workshop clean and organized.
  • Assist in ordering and managing parts and supplies.
  • Maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Learn and develop skills in automotive maintenance and repair.


Qualifications:



  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A strong interest in automotive maintenance and repair.
  • A willingness to learn and take direction.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge or experience is a plus.
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • A valid driver's license is preferred but not required.
  • Must be able to lift up to (50) pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years of age at the time of hire. In accordance with federal requirements, male applicants must be registered with the Selective Service System or provide proof of exemption. *


Environment Demands:

Duties are performed primarily in the service area. Work includes moving around vehicles, working in various physical positions, and safely operating power tools and test equipment. May be exposed to loud noise, vibration, exhaust fumes, and other service and repair conditions.

Compensation and Benefits:

Competitive Pay, PTO, Health Benefits

This position pays a base hourly rate of $17.75 per hour, plus an additional $5.09 per hour in Health & Welfare (H&W) benefits, in accordance with the applicable Service Contract Act (SCA) requirements.
