What You'll Be Doing: * Install, splice, test, and maintain underground fiber optic cables across various environments. * Operate jetting equipment, such as the Minijet, to deploy fiber using compressed air through microducts. * Read and interpret construction drawings, fiber schematics, and route maps. * Conduct site surveys and prepare for fiber deployment. * Document fiber routes, splice points, and test results. * Troubleshoot fiber issues using OTDR and other diagnostic tools. * Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and fellow technicians to meet deadlines. * Follow safety protocols and industry standards throughout all phases of work. What You Bring: * 2+ years of experience in fiber optic installation or telecom fieldwork. * Skilled with fusion splicers, OTDRs, power meters, and jetting systems (especially the Minijet). * Strong understanding of OSP construction practices. * Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors. * Valid driver's license and clean driving record. * Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Bonus Skills: * Fiber optic certifications (FOA CFOT, ETA). * Experience with GIS mapping and digital documentation. * Familiarity with permitting and utility coordination. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Graniteville, SC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
