The Nursing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the smooth functioning of the Medical Clinic at the Secure Detention. The goal of the position is ensure youth receive timely and documented nursing services, treatment, and continuity of care for all residents in conjunction with other practitioners to ensure health needs are addressed.

Job Responsibilities



  • Supervise Medical Office Staff and the smooth functioning of the office
  • Responsible for providing an initial health assessment of youth entering the facility including but not limited to health history, physical exams and laboratory tests.
  • Provides treatment of emergency and/or acute health conditions


Core Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)



  • Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of professional nursing, health promotion, disease prevention and nutrition, including federal and state rules and regulations, safety principles and infections control
  • Must possess medical assessment skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS office Skills.
  • Supervisory and/or Management skills


Job Requirements



  • Minimum of an Associate's Degree in Nursing REQUIRED; Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
  • Minimum 2-3supervisor or manager years of experience REQUIRED.

    • Minimum 3-5 years of adolescents, child welfare and or Juvenile justiceexperience strongly preferred.


  • A current, valid driver's license is REQUIRED. Local and regional travel is required daily.
  • Ability to have a flexible schedule with weekends and holiday REQUIRED.
  • Ability to work with an economically and culturally diverse population.
