The Secure Detention Clinicianisresponsible for using evidence-based treatment modalities and assessment tools to be used by the court and to develop a behavioral management plan for youth in care. The goal of the position is to implement clinical treatment plans by facilitating case management services, individual and/or family counseling sessions.



Description

Job Responsibilities



  • Builds therapeutic relationships, working with youth one on one and with their families.
  • Utilizes assessment tools to develop behavior management plans for youth in care.
  • Implements evidence based clinical models to provide counseling for youth in care and their families to build skills for when they are discharged from our services
  • Other related activities may be performed although not listed.


Core Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)



  • Ability to implement change including ability to help youth progress towards discharge goals.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills required including listening and consultation skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational, time management and prioritization skills required.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy skills including MS Office suite and other database programs.
  • Ability to provide and practice trauma-informed care services and modalities by actively using empathy and understanding in treatment of individuals or other tasks assigned.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with extreme discretion, demonstrated knowledge of HIPAA regulations, up to an including an understanding of agency polices and ethics Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment in a fast-paced culture; must be able to adapt to a changing environment.\
  • Ability to work with economically and culturally diverse population.


Job Requirements



  • LMSW, LMHC, LMFT, or LCAT Required
  • Minimum of a Master's degree in Social Work, or Mental Health Counseling or related field.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of clinical experience working with population served
  • Knowledge of juvenile justice systems preferred
  • Must have a clean valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.
