Division of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine, Department of Pediatrics

Adjunct, Clinical X, HS Clinical, and In Residence Faculty Series

The Division of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine within the Department of Pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco, and UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals is recruiting for faculty positions at the Instructor, Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank in the Adjunct, Clinical X, Health Sciences (HS) Clinical, or In Residence series. Academic rank is commensurate with experience.

Position Overview:

Selected candidates will join a major academic medical center with an established fellowship training program. The position may include clinical responsibilities at both the San Francisco and Oakland campuses, as well as affiliated clinics, and will contribute to the Department's mission of excellence in patient care, education, and research.

The Division of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine at UCSF is among the longest-standing programs of its kind in the nation, with well-integrated clinical, research, and educational activities. The Division provides comprehensive primary and specialty care to adolescents and young adults, maintains a strong and growing research program, and supports a robust educational portfolio, including an accredited fellowship and multidisciplinary training through the Leadership in Adolescent Health (LEAH) program.

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Medical degree (MD, DO, or equivalent)
  • California medical license or eligibility for licensure
  • Board eligibility or certification in Adolescent Medicine


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Demonstrated interest in a career in academic pediatrics
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across pediatric disciplines and in team-based settings
  • Experience supervising residents and/or medical students in clinical environments


For positions that are 51% effort or more:

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $114,100-$344,400. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.

For positions that are 50% effort or less:

See Table 2 for the salary range for this position. A reasonable estimate for this position is $81,500-$246,000.
