Guardian Industries is looking for a Facilities Maintenance Manager to join our team in Carleton, MI! If you have experience with facilities and maintenance supervision in a manufacturing/industrial setting, dealing with contractors and great organizational skills please apply today!


What You Will Do

  • Maintain the facility: premises are clean, secure, and well-maintained, including managing parking, catering, and other services
  • Oversee facility maintenance and operations: smooth functioning of all building systems, including HVAC, lighting, electrical, and plumbing, through regular inspections and proactive maintenance
  • Manage staff and vendors: supervise in-house staff (custodians and PIV maintenance teams) and manage relationships with third-party vendors for services such as cleaning, security, and landscaping
  • Handle budgeting and contracts: develop and manage the facility budgets, oversee contracts with vendors, and track payments
  • Plan and manage projects: oversee renovations, upgrades, and new installations, from minor improvements to major construction projects
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment: follow standards and procedures; comply with legal codes and regulations; develop and implement contractor safety management plans
  • Ensure compliance and safety: make sure the facility meets all health, safety, and building code regulations; implement emergency preparedness plans
  • Evaluate and Improve functionality and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment: working with operating departments to identify problems and meet requirements; studying performance results; identifying, recommending, and implementing changes

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Experience with Facilities and Maintenance Supervision in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
  • Knowledge of efficient and safe manufacturing operations including employee safety and OSHA standards
  • Proficiency using MS Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Degree or certification in a Maintenance/Engineering field
  • Proven facilities Maintenance experience with HVAC, electrical/mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and Automated systems
