Maintenance Group Manager

The Maintenance Group Manager will oversee the maintenance operations within a high-hazard incineration facility, ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of equipment and infrastructure. The role is crucial for maintaining compliance with safety regulations, minimizing downtime, and ensuring the unit's overall integrity.

Essential Functions & Requirements:



  • Lead and manage a team of maintenance technicians and contractors.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance plans for equipment in the incineration unit.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out safely and in compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance for mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
  • Conduct performance reviews and training for maintenance personnel.
  • Schedule and prioritize maintenance tasks to minimize operational downtime.
  • Oversee the repair and maintenance of incineration equipment, including furnaces, boilers, pumps, compressors, valves, and emission control systems.
  • Implement and maintain computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to track maintenance tasks, inventory, and work orders.
  • Ensure that all equipment and systems are properly inspected, calibrated, and tested according to operational standards.
  • Promote a culture of safety and enforce adherence to all safety protocols, ensuring a zero-incident work environment.
  • Conduct safety audits, equipment inspections, and risk assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations related to the incineration of hazardous materials, including waste handling, storage, and emissions control.
  • Collaborate with regulatory bodies and internal safety teams during inspections and audits.
  • Coordinate and oversee shutdowns, turnarounds, and major maintenance projects.
  • Work with procurement teams to source spare parts and manage inventory for critical equipment.
  • Develop budgets for maintenance operations and projects, ensuring cost-effective solutions.
  • Prepare maintenance reports and maintain documentation related to equipment performance, repairs, and modifications.


Education:



  • High School diploma or Equivalent required.


Experience:



  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in maintenance operations within a high-hazard, industrial environment, preferably incineration, chemical processing, or power generation.
  • Previous supervisory or team lead experience is required.


Competencies:



  • OSHA certification and knowledge of NFPA codes are preferred.
  • Maintenance certifications (e.g., CMRP) are a plus.
