This position provides payroll operational support for daily operations and wage and hour compliance in a multi-state, multi-pay, fast-paced environment, including all U.S., Canadian, and Puerto Rico populations. This role oversees all aspects of payroll operations, ensuring payroll accuracy and timeliness, adherence to compliance and controls, and coordination with third-party vendors (Accenture and others). Performance is evaluated using customer-level metrics, ensuring service level agreements align with Human Resources Service Delivery principles. Responsibilities include overseeing controls, process improvements, system upgrades, projects, and year-end closing, including coordination with internal and external auditors. Problem-solving orientation, priority management, in-depth payroll operations knowledge, time management, and a sense of urgency are critical attributes for this role.

What you will do...

  • Participate in analysis, communication, and testing with outsourced vendors and internal functions to deliver accurate and timely payrolls.
  • Serve as the payroll operations wage and hour analyst for all payroll companies within the organization.
  • Collaborate with internal and external departments to identify gaps, ensure compliance, demonstrate best practices, and manage outsourced suppliers and systems.
  • Implement payroll process updates to drive change.
  • Work with functional partners to test and implement solutions that achieve business goals.
  • Provide support to employees and teams to improve overall customer service and effectiveness.
  • Support projects, initiatives, and fiscal and year-end requirements with functions and outsourced vendors.
  • Conduct operational analysis and audits to resolve issues proactively and positively, promoting trust among customers while maintaining the highest level of customer service.

Job Complexity

  • Problem-solving orientation, priority management, in-depth payroll operations knowledge, time management, and a sense of urgency are critical attributes for this role.
  • Intermediate knowledge of time and attendance, gross-to-net calculations, payroll taxes, general ledger, and their impact on financials.
  • Drive recommendations and manage improvement initiatives across end-to-end payroll, including time and attendance, FLSA, and policy.
  • Active role in special payroll processes, including planning, development, and analysis for off-cycle payrolls, bonuses, long-term incentive payouts, and annual merit increases.
  • Responsible for service and customer service metrics for payroll, including performance management to support the operating model.
  • Support tiered support model (Tier 2, Tier 3) for payroll delivery, including customer service and ongoing maintenance.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for payroll operational issues.
  • Ability to navigate effectively in a highly matrixed organization with multiple deadlines and projects.
  • Interact effectively with all levels of employees, tax agencies, and outsourced vendors.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to develop and implement solutions after diagnosing issues as a subject matter expert.
  • Oversee all aspects of outsourced vendor and third-party supplier groups.
  • Intermediate payroll operational knowledge to ensure payroll accuracy, accountability for driving supplier performance, continuous improvements, corporate initiatives, tax updates, setups, and system enhancements.

What you will bring to the table... (Must Have)

  • BS or BA with a concentration in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of payroll operations experience
  • Intermediate multi-state payroll, multi-pay cycle processing, payroll tax, and accounting skills
  • Experience with larger payroll platforms required
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint and Excel)
  • Ability to multi-task, manage multiple projects, and work with other teams to meet deadlines
  • Ability to remain flexible, positive, and enthusiastic about change and new assignments
  • Hybrid role in corporate location

  • CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of payroll experience in a large, multi-state manufacturing environment preferred
  • ADP Services experience preferred
  • Workday (Payroll) experience preferred

Compensation and Benefits:

The target base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between

$65,000-$93,400

Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
