The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

The Financial Coordinator is responsible for accounts payable, reimbursements, journal entries, and supporting monthend and yearend financial processes. The incumbent will also be responsible for post-award research activities. This position reports to the Financial Manager in the business office of the Department's Business Core Administration team.

Responsibilities



  • Serve as the liaison between divisions, vendors, the University, and departmental administrative offices.
  • Support accounts payable activities, including invoices, travel, business reimbursements, and check requests.
  • Process monthly research journal entries
  • Review and process clinical research financial transactions
  • Monitor and respond to urgent financial transaction requests
  • Responsible for depositing all checks/cash for research accounts
  • Prepare research financial reports and profit-and-loss statements
  • Liaison between the pre- and post- research award offices and provide cross-coverage as needed.
  • Assist in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings
  • Ensure that budget lines are valid for all procurement transactions by collaborating with Finance Directors and Divisional Administrators on appropriate ChartStrings
  • Support the Department's Senior Director of Business Administration with compilation of reports relating to the financial operations as needed.
  • Support other ad-hoc projects and functions as assigned


Minimum Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications



  • Two years of related experience preferred.


Other Requirements



  • Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point).
