Job Description




As a Security Officer - Government Armed Patrol in Los Angeles, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Patrol Armed Security Officer with Allied Universal, you will help to deter security-related incidents by conducting routine patrols and maintaining a visible presence at a government location. Your role involves monitoring assigned areas, responding to incidents, and providing outstanding customer service while upholding our core values of teamwork, integrity, and a people-first approach. This is an armed position that requires professionalism, reliability, and a commitment to creating a secure environment for all.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while maintaining professionalism.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the assigned government location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities.
  • Monitor for and report any suspicious behavior, security-related hazards, or incidents in accordance with established protocols.
  • Interact with visitors, employees, and/or members of the public in a courteous and professional manner while enforcing access control procedures.
  • Prepare clear and concise written reports of daily activities, incidents, and/or unusual occurrences as required by Allied Universal and the site.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement or emergency personnel as directed during incidents or emergencies.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • Handcuffing certification is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Baton certification is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
